Outdoor Voice is you.

Outdoor Voice is neighbors, friends and parents. We are people who care about each other, who look out for each other, who join together when we need to (and anytime it feels right).

Outdoor Voice cares about real things (not fake things) like:

  • Our natural places provide us with freedom and serenity and peace. Being outdoors is important to us on so many levels, and ensuring that for future generations is something we care deeply about.
  • The outdoors are for everyone. And we mean EVERYONE. Just as the Bay Area is home to a diversity of landscapes, we believe that it is critical for people of all shapes, sizes, backgrounds, colors, and abilities to connect with nature. Even Dodgers fans.
  • We all have the responsibility to steward this place we call home. Taking care of the natural places we love isn’t something we can delegate or assume that someone else will do for us. We have the power and we will use it!

But there is a problem. Actually there are a few.

We haven’t been taking care of our parks, open spaces, and farmlands like we should be. There is a severe lack of funding for park maintenance and upkeep. The threat of development is relentless in parts of the region. Not everyone feels connected or safe in the outdoors. Not everyone feels connected to each other because of those pesky machines we carry around that are connected to the internet (on which you’re reading this and we’re writing this!). Climate change is changing everything.

That’s where #outdoorvoice comes in. We are working to increase the investment of resources – time, money, and people – in taking care of the Bay Area’s natural wonders. We are connecting people like you to other people like you. And we are working to change the story from a sad one of apathy to a positive story about neighbors, friends and family working together for the health of our beloved natural places.

Will you join us?

Yes! I want to be a part of this.
